Precis Hires Richert as Cary Director – Engineering Services

Edward Richert, PE, LEED AP, brings 30+ years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology expertise to the role.

Precis has hired G. Edward Richert, PE, LEED AP, as Director – Engineering Services in its Cary office. Ed Richert has 30+ years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology facility design and operations experience on both the owner/client and consulting engineering sides of the industry.

“Ed’s deep industry knowledge and perspective helps our clients better strategize, allowing us to arrive at thoughtful solutions that perform,” said Precis Principal – North Carolina Operations John McCullough, PE. “In addition to serving our clients, Ed is a talented leader-doer who provides important guidance and expertise to our growing team.”

As Director – Engineering Services, Richert operates as a technical resource to staff across all Precis disciplines, supports new business development, and oversees project deliverable quality controls.

“I’ve supported the biopharmaceutical community in the Research Triangle Park region for most of my career,” said Richert. “It feels especially fulfilling to join Precis, where leaders have hands-on involvement in every assignment. I’m excited to contribute to the innovative design solutions for which Precis is known and to foster long-term client relationships.”

Richert’s background includes sustainable capital project engineering design, energy management, strategic planning, product/process validation, and FDA design control implementation. His design experience spans utilities and infrastructure, laboratories, medical device facilities, active pharmaceutical ingredient plants, oral solid/liquid dosage facilities, sterile fill suites, and aseptic processing facilities.

Richert holds M.S. and B.S. in Engineering Science degrees from the University of Florida; is a registered professional engineer in 11 states; is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE); and is a lifetime supporting member of Tau Beta Pi. He lives with his family in Raleigh.
