G. Edward Richert, PE, LEED AP

Director – Engineering Services

Ed Richert has 30 years of pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech facility design and operations experience on both the owner/client and consulting engineering sides of the industry. Leveraging these dual perspectives from Precis’ rapidly growing Cary office, Ed serves as a technical resource to all disciplines, supports new business development, and oversees project deliverable quality.

Ed’s background includes sustainable capital project engineering design, energy management, strategic planning, product/process validation, and FDA design control implementation. His extensive design experience spans utilities and infrastructure, laboratories, medical device facilities, active pharmaceutical ingredient plants, oral solid/liquid dosage facilities, sterile fill suites, and aseptic processing facilities. In a way, Ed’s career has come full-circle, reconnecting him with past clients like GSK and its Zebulon site. Both Ed’s wife and daughter have asthma, and his wife works in the dry-powder inhaler industry, so being able to support respiratory therapies through Precis feels personally meaningful.

Ed is married with two daughters and a son. A South Florida native, Ed began waterskiing during grade-school summer camp. By age 13, he was waterskiing competitively; he competed at the intercollegiate, amateur, and semi-professional levels until life and family became higher priorities. Ed continues to waterski daily and compete occasionally as a member of the Raleigh Waterski Club. He also serves as council chair of Millbrook United Methodist Church in Raleigh.

“I see myself as a leader-doer; I’m not going to ask anybody on the team to do anything I wouldn’t jump in and do myself. I’m also a seller-doer; I thrive on building strong client relationships and delivering successful projects. The best marketing is doing a great job.”
