Murray Sterling, PE
- “Relationships brought me to Precis and are how we keep growing. The object has always been to do right by our customers and to foster those relationships.”
Murray Sterling manages and enhances client relationships while introducing prospects to the firm’s capabilities. He joined Precis in 2009 to provide senior management and oversight of engineering assignments and to lead early business development efforts. A former process engineer, automation engineer, plant engineer, and consultant who initiated alliances with engineering organizations across the U.S., established strategic partnerships and joint ventures for mutual success, and completed multinational engineering assignments, Murray brought his decades of experience to a young Precis and has been a consistent and valuable part of firm growth. With 57+ years of experience, Murray understands client and stakeholder perspectives and how to balance strategy with action.
Friendly and personable, Murray treats customers and colleagues like family and has done much to reinforce the Precis culture of hard work and engineering excellence. His extensive bio includes authoring articles on the use of automation for consistency and energy savings, leading professional organizations, and mentoring and supporting staff development. He never forgets to ask about your family or how you’re doing personally.
Murray is the widowed patriarch of a close family that includes two grown children and five grandchildren. An avid photographer and member of the Doylestown Photo Club, Murray’s landscape, bird, and architectural photos grace the walls of the Precis office. He also enjoys playing golf.
