Position Overview:

The Lead Structural Engineer will be based in our Ambler, Pa., office. The individual must have a minimum of four years of experience in high-tech and life science building markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and demonstrated experience with structural design and documentation across all project phases—from concept design through construction administration. This individual will serve as a structural design engineer for commercial, industrial, institutional, and life science facilities, including cGMP environments. Working under the Structural Department Director, the Lead Structural Engineer will act as the structural project lead and coordinate with other discipline leads. Responsibilities:

• Design and document structural systems using multiple building materials including steel, bar joists, metal deck, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Generate structural deliverables such as conceptual and construction-issued drawings and supporting narratives/reports.
• Apply understanding of cGMP requirements as they relate to building systems.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and expand the scope of work with existing clients.
• Represent Precis in a professional, responsible manner in all project phases.
• Assist with planning, scoping, and coordination of technical aspects of projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering.
• Minimum EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with MS Office products.
• Proficiency with documentation software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software such as Risa-3D, TEDDS, and Hilti Profis.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D and ANSI Z359 is a plus.
• Experience with passive and active fall protection system selection is a plus.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and time management skills.
