The Morphotek Pilot Plant received the ISPE Facility of the Year Award for Sustainability.
On April 23, the 2013 Facility of the Year Awards were presented by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), Interphex, and Pharmaceutical Processing magazine at a celebratory dinner in New York. The Morphotek, Inc. Pilot Plant, designed by Precis Engineering and Arcus Design Group Architects, Inc., and constructed by HSC Builders & Construction Managers, Inc., took home the Sustainability Category Award.
The global awards program received 198 submissions from 27 different countries. The six category winners were recognized for “exemplifying innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing to benefit patients worldwide.”
Morphotek was selected as a winner because sustainability was incorporated into all design and construction processes and built into the operations and long-term vision of the pilot plant. The project was also recognized for strong planning, an integrated team approach, and advanced technology that enabled sustainability goals to be achieved within budget.
