Position Overview
Precis is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern / Co-op for our Ambler, PA office. This individual must be enrolled in an accredited university and studying Mechanical or Architectural Engineering. We are looking for a resourceful and goal-oriented individual who desires challenging work in a dynamic environment.
Our mechanical team works on complex and innovative building systems, offering interns exposure to real-world problem-solving in a collaborative setting. The Mechanical Department is regularly engaged in a broad spectrum of projects that require creative solutions to challenging building systems and utility issues. This offers an excellent environment for employees to rapidly expand their knowledge and understanding of the key role engineering plays in the success of building renovations and new construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of complete mechanical/HVAC systems supporting facility expansions, renovations, remediation, and new construction projects from concept through detailed design and construction
- Work under the guidance of experienced engineers and receive mentoring on technical objectives and design challenges
- Assist in gathering information and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform standard engineering calculations, analysis, and other design functions
- Assist with redlines, basic drafting tasks, and drawing updates under supervision of experienced staff. Interact with other project team members to coordinate deliverables
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Strong computer literacy, good written & verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and exposure to Autodesk software (AutoCAD and Revit) preferred
