Position Overview
Precis is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Cary, NC office. This individual must have a strong background in Mechanical/HVAC engineering and a foundational understanding of engineering practices within highly regulated industries.
We are looking for a resourceful and goal-oriented professional who desires challenging work in a dynamic environment. The Mechanical Department is regularly engaged in a broad spectrum of projects that require creative solutions to complex building systems and utility issues, offering an excellent environment for continued learning and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering services for the design of complete mechanical/HVAC systems supporting facility expansions, renovations, remediation, and new construction projects
- Oversee design development from concept through detailed design and construction, including equipment, ductwork, piping, building automation, and other components
- Apply advanced techniques and extensive knowledge to modify or extend standard procedures and design criteria
- Develop details, control sequences, and specifications, and assist upper-level management in improving design standards and practices
- Supervise engineering staff to ensure project alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
- Review project documents for quality assurance and adherence to project goals
- Coordinate design deliverables with client representatives, equipment vendors, contractors, and project teams
- Visit project sites to survey conditions and observe construction activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum 8 years industry engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong computer literacy with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and guidelines
- Experience with critical environments and related building systems
