Position Overview
Precis is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Ambler, PA office. This individual must have a background in Mechanical/HVAC engineering and a basic understanding of engineering practices within highly regulated industries.
The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of industry experience and be a resourceful, goal-oriented professional who desires challenging work in a dynamic environment. The Mechanical Department at Precis works on a wide range of technically demanding projects, offering excellent opportunities for growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering services to design complete HVAC systems for facility expansions, renovations, remediation, and new construction
- Develop designs from concept through detailed construction documentation, including equipment, ductwork, piping, building automation, and related building components
- Evaluate and adapt standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform calculations, analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments
- Plan and coordinate design tasks in alignment with project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Develop project documents including design details, control sequences, and specifications
- Identify opportunities to improve technical standards and internal processes
- Assign tasks to and mentor interns, co-ops, and junior engineers while providing supervision and quality review
- Coordinate with clients, equipment vendors, contractors, and project team members to ensure project success
- Visit project sites to survey existing conditions and observe construction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum 4-8 years industry engineering experience
- Strong computer literacy, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Broad knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry guidelines
- Experience with critical environments and building systems is a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
