Director - Process Architecture + Sustainability

Veera Ronalter supports the firm’s process architecture group with the design and execution of projects and provides leadership to meet the sustainability objectives of Precis and its clients. She leads projects seeking certifications and guides teams to embrace environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, sustainable alternatives, and emerging carbon-reduction technologies. A licensed architect and native of Finland, Veera has 25+ years of experience designing global life sciences projects, including laboratories, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and human and animal health facilities.

Veera spearheads ways for the resource- and energy-heavy pharmaceutical industry to adopt conservation and sustainability as default basis of design, and she has helped industry partners find ways to turn their goals into reality. Veera also practices what she preaches. She bicycles to work, sorts waste into 10 different recycling streams, eats a mostly vegetarian diet, and generally makes personal decisions based on environmental responsibility. She believes that living by example can demonstrate the simplicity of energy savings and waste management.

Veera has two children: one in high school and another in college. In her free time, she enjoys long hikes with her poodle, tending her garden, and challenges such as growing her own kombucha. Veera also volunteers for Lower Gwynned, Pa., Environmental Advisory Council events and Wissahickon High School.
