Jonathan Busam

Jonathan Busam joined Precis to lead the process engineering discipline after 20 years spent driving innovation, leading new product development, and optimizing processes across the biomedical manufacturing and R&D environments. He has managed large-scale projects, led cross-functional teams, and implemented advanced technologies to enhance product offerings and streamline production. His client-side global perspective and cumulative experience are informed by past collaboration with marketing teams, facility staff, maintenance personnel, and outside partners. He brings a strong appreciation for relationships and dialogue to his role.

After beginning his career with DuPont in analytics and polymer synthesis, Jonathan shifted to medical device manufacturing where he developed antimicrobial coatings for infection resistance, implemented performance coating application lines, and attained a patent for a self-heating medical instrument valve. He shifted to the operations side of manufacturing where his ability to identify and implement efficiency opportunities led to optimized production schedules, scaled and advanced legacy production lines, reduced overtime, advanced employee training, and improved product quality. Jonathan’s ability to look holistically at processes and facilities will better inform the Precis design approach.

Married with three elementary-aged children, Jonathan spends much of his free time coaching his two sons’ travel baseball teams and cheering on his daughter in gymnastics. He also trains in Jiu Jitsu and dabbles in woodworking. As a family, the Busams volunteer and support those in need by contributing to food drives and other community service activities. Jonathan has also been a longtime real estate investor buying, rehabbing, and selling residential properties.
