- “Girls aren’t raised with enough exposure to STEM careers. While boys are encouraged to build things or work on cars, that’s not encouraged in young girls. The key to more women engineers is getting girls involved at a younger age so they can see what’s out there.”
Amanda Jones leads the project management team with a dedication to problem solving. She offers vision and strategy to clients, provides direction for each assignment, and guides project managers to think critically and work collaboratively. Amanda has 15+ years of experience performing comprehensive MEP engineering analyses, design, and project management for facilities in the pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and commercial markets. She joined Precis in 2017 as a senior project manager and was promoted to director in 2024.
A self-admitted goof, Amanda leads with a sense of humor and a commitment to teamwork. Yet her style belies a seriousness about the work. This balance puts engineers and clients at ease and supports her ability to translate technical messages into words that resonate with a client’s values and concerns. Super concise and a stickler for consistency in everything from proposal-writing to project direction, Amanda has implemented strong project methodology while reinforcing a culture of camaraderie.
The married mother of two young boys sets a hardworking example. She feels strongly that all kids should be encouraged to explore STEM, and she provides mentoring and outreach to support girls and young women engineers as they begin their careers. Outside of work, Amanda crafts, sews, knits, quilts, and scrapbooks while inspiring a sense of creativity and exploration in her kids.
