Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Intern to work on projects focused on biotech, pharmaceutical and food / beverage facilities. This individual must be enrolled in an accredited university and studying electrical engineering. We are looking for a resourceful and goal-oriented individual who desires challenging work in a dynamic environment.
Precis is recognized for our design expertise and proficiency in providing strategically sensitive and technically complex engineering and architectural services. Our Electrical Department is regularly engaged in a broad spectrum of projects that require creative solutions to challenging building systems and utility issues. This offers an excellent environment for employees to rapidly expand their knowledge and understanding of the key role engineering plays in the success of building renovations and new construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing electrical engineering services through detailed design support of pharmaceutical, R&D, process development & manufacturing facilities
- Collaborate with the design team and provide interdisciplinary coordination to accomplish project goals and design deliverables
- Assist in developing design documentation including engineering calculations, drawings and diagrams
- Assist in performing electrical system calculations including load analysis, lighting foot-candle calculations, and short circuit calculations using state of the art computer-based programs
- Assist in developing drawings and other design deliverables supporting facility expansions, renovations, new equipment and remediation projects
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related major
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Strong computer literacy, good written & verbal communication skills
- Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Autodesk software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
