Position Overview
Precis is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Cary, NC office. This individual will work on projects focused on biotech, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage facilities, and must have a background in electrical engineering with a strong understanding of power system and lighting design in commercial and light industrial markets.

The Electrical Department is regularly engaged in a broad spectrum of projects that require creative solutions to complex building systems and utility issues, providing an excellent environment for growth and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering services supporting projects from conceptual through detailed design for pharmaceutical, R&D, process development, and manufacturing facilities
- Interface with designers and client representatives to coordinate the development of design deliverables
- Develop design documentation including engineering calculations, drawings, and diagrams
- Perform electrical system calculations such as load analysis, lighting foot-candle calculations, and short circuit analysis using computer-based tools
- Prepare engineering calculations, equipment specifications, and other deliverables for facility expansions, renovations, and remediation projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform electrical system capacity analyses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5-10+ years MEP engineering experience
- Experience with design of GMP and FDA regulated facilities and/or central plant utilities is preferred
- Experience in technical leadership, schedule, cost, and scope management
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Autodesk software (Revit and AutoCAD)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- EIT certification or PE license preferred
